Hello all,
Unfortunately this is a bittersweet post. RCMP have found the remains of a male on a rural property near Davidson, believed to be that of missing local man Rob Vicente. 2 men have been charged with 1st degree murder.
I hope this brings his family and friends closure. And I hope Rob can finally rest peace.

Hiatus before another hiatus!
Hello!
Hope your Christmas/New Year's was fantastic. I had to post a few things that have been weighing on my mind.
#1: What ever happened with the Dustin Lafortune/Dustin PAxton case? I googled it and found a trial date for January 25. That's next week! (Seems I have a psychic connection or something ha ha). Unfortunately I will be out of the country, but I can't waiti to hear how it goes when I get back!
#2: Christmas came and went and Rob Vicente's family still wonders where he is. There have been new tips according to CTV and Global, but nothing has come of it yet. Fro what I hear through the grapevine, someone in Davidson area knows exactly what happened, actually a few people. I truly hope that Rob haunts them in their dreams, that is, if they can even sleep.
#3: Crazy Cat Lady in Elrose. This woman had 64 (!!!) cats in her tiny house, calling it a rescue. Her house according to pictures posted on the Facebook group (Support SPCA in Fight..something something I can't remember) looks disgusting. And these are HER pcitures??? Come on! 64 cats. and the house is les than a 100 square feet! I won't name the organization here, although it is easy enough to find out, because it isn't the volunteers fault this lady is nutso. She got her injunction, but it won't stand up. The SPCA is NOT trying to snuff out the competition...they help out other organizations like SCAT and New Hope Dog Rescue. This woman is an animal HOARDER. And those kitties and puppy and turtles and iguanan are better off in the capable hands of Trish and the folks at the SPCA.
End Rant.
PS: If any of ROb's family and friends would like to comment with links to the new videos you made please feel free to. I don't have much time to post them, but I do think they should be shared :)

Yesterday I was driving down McKercher, and was stopped at a red light. I looked at the car next to me, and noticed a 'Baby on Board' placard in the back window. So I started thinking. Think that the sign is there for a reason, to let people know that there is precious cargo on board. But what is this supposed to mean? Looking deeper, it means 'if you are gunna rear end someone, rear end the guy next to me, they don't have a baby on board.' I mean really??? I have a dog riding shot gun, I need to get a sign that says 'Cute pooch on board'. Or maybe if you are giving an elderly person a ride to their appointment, do you need a sign that says 'Old person on Board'. Where will it end?? I know this isn't a new phenomenon, but it is precisly why I get annoyed at new parents these days. I know, you want to protect your child, watch over them, hover. But c'mon already.
On another note, I do happen to love those stickers on the back windows of soccer moms' mini vans. The one symobolizing your family with stick figures. I like these ony because the other day I saw a little diagram on the back window of an SUV...it was a stick man, stick woman, 2 stick dogs and a stick cat. This made me laugh a little. I woulda laughed more if it was a stick lady and 5 stick cats...I'm keeping my eyes open for that one!
I better get out there and strt removing the two feet of snow from my walk. Take care and happy shoveling!

'Tis the Season!
well hello! The weather outside is less frightful, and visions of cookies and egg nog are dancing in my head. I do love Christmas. I don't know what it is, whether it is the smell, the atmosphere, the music, the togetherness, it's my favorite time of year. It isn't everyone's though. I have a friend who HATES Christmas. She says it brings out the greed. While this is true, I consider myself somewhat of an optimist, I think it brings out the good in people as well. I think more people in Saskatoon are willing to be their neighbors' snow angels around Christmas time than other winter months. People seem more willing to hole the door ffor you, let you merge in traffic, and smile aat you as you pass them on the street. The only place this doesn't computer is at the mall. The mall is absolute chaos and hell this time of year, and it only gets worse as we get closer to the 25th! If I wasn't such a procrastinator this would not be an issue, but I seem to work better under pressure. But the good news is, there are many options when Christmas shopping that do not involve the mall! You can shop online (start now though to make sure they get to you on time), or you can check out numerous trade shows for uique and original gifts.
I think the most important things to keep in mind when frantically getting ready for the fast approaching holiday are to just take a breath, stay calm, be charitable, and be PATIENT. Christmas will be here and gone, but the long term health effects of stress will last a life time.

NOW it feels like winter!
Winter is a frenemy. I like it because the air smells cleaner, the snow is pretty, and Christmas is a resident. However, I hate the drivers, the fact I look like Shamu in a parka, and the dry skin.
People really, really forget how to drive every winter though. I mean, unless you are a new immigrant, there should be no excuse for terribly driving skills at freeze up! Yesterday Circle Drive was all backed up...people were literally sliding off the roads! SLOW DOWN! And don't tailgate! I'm in no way a perfect driver, I generally drive like a coffin-dodger when the snow flies, but better safe than sorry. The only thing I worry about are the people who fly by me in a pick up and then start their triple lutz in the intersection. (And no, I didn't look up what a 'lutz' is, so of its wrong sorry, I meant spin).
On to warmer news, I want to take this time to acknowledge the comments this blog has received. I often wonder if what I write is just dancing away in cyberspace all willy-nilly. It's reassuring to know that someone out there is reading it.
Keep warm this weekend, and Go Riders!

KISS this!
What an exciting weekend for KISS fans, fans of the show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, fans of Playboy...Shannon Tweed and gene Simmons were spotted all around town! I was at the Blades game (good game by the way, Blades score the winner with 2 minutes to play!), and the Hollywood couple were also seen at The Saskatoon Roller Derby match, and even spotted at Starbucks in Midtown! If you have a sighting to report let me know! Pretty cool deal, and the episode featuring Saskatoon should air next summer sometime! PS: Gene was a pretty good goalie, but I think the PBR cowoys were going easy on him ;)
Also this weekend was the Riders playoff game...what a game of ups and downs!! But of course the better team came out on top, and hopefully it won't be so hard on the heart next week in Calgary. Go RIDERS!

Where is Rob?
As the snow is coming down, a Bladworth family is wondering where their precious son is, where has he been over the past month. 25 year old Rob Vicente has been missing since Thanksgiving weekend. No word from his, he has not accessed his bank account, his car was found burned out on an abandoned farm. Missing person posters are scattered throughout Saskatoon, and thoughout Facebook. His friends and family have a yellow ribbon as their profile picture, and people in this close knit rural town are keeping their porch lights on with hope that Rob will come home soon.
The story of the night Rob went missing has been speculated on, talked about, blogged about, and has the rumour mill working overtime. Someone, somewhere knows what happened. Meanwhile, his family and his many friends face the agony of not knowing. The media has been quiet since a duplex in Davidson was searched two weeks ago. But even we, as strangers, cannot forget Rob's face, cannot forget his name. His family needs rest, they need to know where their baby is. The cowards who know what happened need to man up and come clean, because in the end, karma will get to them.
